Actually the "real thing" is a completely natural product, not synthetic, but processed from agricultural materials using chemicals.
I think we all need to choose our environment carefully.
If I visited Nantucket I wonder if I would be able to tell that there was a more popular drug culture than average, since that's got to be largely underground. Well this is an "upper-crust" place and they should be able to afford it financially if that's what they want. But it's too toxic to actually be afforded healthwise and sometimes the only way people find out is after they have more than enough money to spend on it. So they consume more than enough and you can really tell the toll it takes.
It would be interesting to compare wastewater readings from desirable destinations, and I would prefer to be where the readings are not elevated myself. Even if you can not see signs on the surface, the stronger the underground influence the worse it can still be and you may not know why.
I like an environment where it's more natural to have an uplifting trend with no toxicity or stimulants involved, not even caffeine, so I'd like see those readings too. I would probably fit in better to some degree. Some doctors have said that milligram for milligram caffeine is equally as safe as cocaine.
I'm no angel, I still occasionally handle toxic petrochemicals and I sure try to avoid ingesting anything toxic intentionally. But I slipslide real bad and end up drinking one or two beers a week, all in one night :)
"average cocaine levels"??? What happened to no cocaine levels? Last I heard cocaine is not a natural substance in the environment.

To paraphrase Captain Renault, "I'm shocked, shocked, to find that cocaine use is going on in here."
