Worth outlining that the public isn't even benefiting as a utility while subsidizing it as though it were one -- they don't have the option to pay for it. It's a fucking clown country ran by clowns. From what I gather, this is Anthropic-only because of disagreement there. OpenAI is not subject to apply the policy and the US has no power to limit foreign companies like Deepseek and GLM.

What have you gathered? This very article is about the US government asking OpenAI to limit the release of models due to infosec / bioweapon concerns.
